The design of THo Temozon revolves around three main themes: Eroticism and sensuality, land and nature, and modernity with a retro touch. Each room within the house is carefully crafted to evoke different emotions, creating a truly immersive experience for its inhabitants. From the moment you step foot into the foyer, you are transported into a world of organic and sensual lines, seamlessly transitioning into areas that celebrate nature with the use of wood and natural elements.
One of the standout features of THo Temozon is its use of lighting design. The house boasts two domes of reinforced thermal glass, which not only provide ample natural light but also offer treatments to prevent the entry of heat and harmful UV rays. The design of the lighting takes advantage of the furniture and decoration, with colored crystals projecting captivating effects on the walls, floors, and ceiling, creating a mesmerizing visual display both day and night.
Spanning over 1,100 square meters on a 3,520 square meter property, THo Temozon offers a range of amenities and spaces to cater to the needs of its inhabitants. From the four bedrooms and fully equipped kitchen to the art and design workshop and game room, every aspect of the design has been meticulously thought out. The residence also features two interior gardens with small animals, a travel history gallery, and a service personnel area, ensuring that every member of the family is well-catered for.
Throughout the design process, Gerardo Rios Altamirano faced several challenges, including balancing the refined taste of each family member and ensuring the security and sustainability of the residence. However, through the use of intelligent access doors, thermic glasses, and water treatment systems, these challenges were overcome, resulting in a design that seamlessly combines aesthetics and functionality.
The THo Temozon project began in April 2016 and was completed in May 2017. Construction started in September 2017 and was finished with equipment in November 2018. Located in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico, the residence is a testament to the dedication and passion of the family, who are entirely dedicated to art and design.
Recognized for its excellence, THo Temozon was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2019. This prestigious award is given to designs that meet professional and industrial requirements, showcasing innovation, practicality, and adherence to industry best practices. With its timeless modern approach and commitment to creating spaces that inspire, THo Temozon is a true masterpiece.
